Nuestra America Flotilla has arrived in Havana, Cuba.

The Maguro, a fishing boat symbolically renamed ‘Granma 2.0’ as a tribute to the vessel that launched the Cuban Revolution, has officially made landfall in Havana. Despite battling strong winds and a failing battery, it has arrived as the historic first of three expected vessels in the ‘Our America’ flotilla. This mission marks a defiant breach in the U.S. energy blockade that has plunged the island into darkness, carrying 30 tonnes of aid – including 70 solar panels, medicine, and food – to jumpstart a power grid.

On deck, activists like Thiago Ávila, stood in a powerful display of global sumud (steadfastness). This mission isn’t just about aid; it’s a direct challenge to the siege tactics that mirror the suffering we see in Palestine. Whether it is the Mediterranean or the Caribbean, the message remains: no blockade is absolute when the people unite. Two more ships are already on the horizon to continue breaking the siege. 🌊
